In the early 1950s, Ed Nosewicz left Binghamton, N.Y., deciding to further his education and play golf at the University of Denver.
Nosewicz could play. And he has always been willing to help others improve their games.
As a player, he won the CGA’s Senior Match Play Championship four times (1977, 1978, 1980, 1982), defeating the likes of Les Fowler, Ed Sweeney and Larry Eaton.
There were times Ed worked at the driving range at Springhill Golf Course in Aurora, often helping some of the junior golfers with their games. Upon request, he was partial to aiding seniors who were experiencing difficulties with their golf. Ed also enjoyed assisting with junior golf clinics.
Nosewicz served in the Navy during World War II. Fortunately, he chose the Front Range to become his permanent home rather than some seaside locale.
